Pinewood Derby

As we have now entered the world (or subculture) of Scouting - since Bryson turned 8 - we got to participate in our first Pinewood Derby. I will tell you that I have never been a huge fan of scouts or the Pinewood Derby, but I am finding (as usual) that I have been wrong. Scouts is awesome. Seriously. It is REALLY helping Bryson to want to be a better person. The other day he was pushing my friend's stroller (and baby) for her and when I mentioned that being something a good scout would do he just beamed. And the Pinewood Derby... that was such a great opportunity for Bryson and Chad to do a project together. They had so much fun that they ended up making one for/with Abbey too. So... I am repenting :)
(Bryson's car did well in the races. When we got there, most of the cars were AMAZING. We started just hoping that Bryson's would win at least once - but he ended up winning several races. Bonus!!!)

Shelley,
I have to tell you when I was a Bears den leader it was my favorite calling! I absolutely loved it the boys are at a perfect age we just had fun fun fun all the time. I'm in YW now and I can't tell you how many rolled eyes I've seen since I've been in my calling. I'd go back to cub scouts in a heart beat.
I love seeing your pictures and your blog. I have to update mine.
Love Kam

Scouts is great but I think Ben and I made more cars than he did with dad. And boy I prayed we'd just win a few too! It is so fun they all love it win or loose. Great pictures!

What a fun age! Taylor loves scouts and is getting ready for his pinewood derby next month. They really do get a lot of good out of the program. If I can just keep up with all the little badges that have to be sewn to their uniforms I'll be good. Bryson sure makes a cute little cub scout!
