HOUSE HUNTING

So if you haven't heard, we are moving to Idaho. Most people ask "Why?" I will tell you the answer. Mostly, it is so we can be closer to family. Chad and I met at BYU-Idaho and we have always loved that area (south-eastern Idaho). Chad's job has stopped moving people around very much and this position came open and he applied and got it and it is kind of a "now or never" type of situation. Overall I think it will be a good move, but in the short term it is just not fun. I love our ward. We have such amazing people. I have some really good friends and lots of girls that I haven't really got to know that well, but really like :) This week we have been in Pocatello (our new home town) house-hunting. You might think that being alone (kind of alone - we still have Claire with us) - just Chad and me, staying in a hotel, eating every meal out would be fun and relaxing, but you would be wrong! It is just such a roller coaster of emotions. And I have to keep reminding myself to be grateful for what I have and not want more. (It is embarrassing that I know this, but you know in High School Musical 2 where Sharpay (sp?) sings "I Want It All"? Ya, that's me.) So we think we have found the perfect place and then we realize that it's not, or we find out it costs more than we thought, or we look at a house in an area that we were sure we didn't want to live and find out that it is an absolutely beautiful area - it just doesn't have a lot of kids in the ward; etc., etc., etc. So we are coming home without having made a decision. This picture is not our new house, but it is representative of how I am feeling about house hunting at the moment... just a little bit blah.

Wow, how exciting! I wish I could live closer to family. It is always hard to move when you're in a good place already. Good luck on the house decision. It is so stressful. I hope you're able to find something that you like and will be happy in. Can't wait to hear more!

Oh some of my family lives in Pocatello! Maybe I'll get to see you again! That would be cool. Good luck on the house.

I'm sorry it's going so rough. We'll keep you in our prayers. My mom-in-law grew up in Pocatello. She always shares her fond memories of it.

Sorry that the trip didn't go as well. You will find something soon - I'm sure of it! Until then, if you need someone to sing "I Want It All" with you I would be more than happy to - I know all the words (plus you aren't a true HSM geek - only a geek would know that Sharpay sings that song in HSM 3 not 2:))

I can't even imagine. You are excited to get there, but don't know where you are gonna LIVE once you do. But, as you know, you will find the perfect place with His help. Or if you don't you can always stay here with us...big cheesy smile!!

oh my gosh Shelley, we got the job in Poci and turned it down and came here instead, but if I would've known you'd be there a year later, I honestly would've changed my mind:) we miss you guys and ABQ more than words can say. but we go thru Poci all the time (we lived there for 4 years for undergrad, we LOVE Pocatello) so we will have to stop and see you. I have an awesome friend there if you need an instant friend. I know what you mean about the house hunting, we just went thru those same motions and yeah, it's no fun. and Pocatello isn't quite like ABQ when it comes to options either:) but you will love it there I think, at least we did and I'm so excited that we may see you guys again:)

Shelley. I hope you don't feel like I am stalking you! :) I heard you guys were moving and found your blog. We lived in Pocatello for four years and loved it. I worked at LDS Family Services there. What a great place. We are in Blackfoot now and forever so if you ever want to get together and miss ABQ- I'm here. We still miss it so much! poulterfamily7@gmail.com
